Flight On Ice Skating Rink Returning For Winter In Newtown Square

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — Newtown Square's popular outdoor ice rink is coming back for the 2024-25 season.

Flight On Ice will open at 4 p.m. Friday at Energy Transfer Veterans Memorial Rink, 4901 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square.

Patrons can look forward to an array of family-friendly fun, including a kids zone with moon bounces courtesy of One Stop Party Shop, heated tents for comfort, a large LED TV Display to watch an Eagles game or a movie, fire pits for s’mores, open-air gazebos, and much more.

Guests can also expect a selection of food and refreshments covering all the basics, including nachos, pretzels, popcorn, candy, coffee, hot chocolate, and, of course, a bar menu with beer and wine served by the team at Tired Hands.

A portion of proceeds from the Winter Beer Park by Tired Hands will again benefit our local veterans.

Through its sponsorship of the ice rink, Energy Transfer contributed $50,000 directly to the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association for the second straight year, bringing a total of $155,000 donated to the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association since 2021.

The association uses these funds to support the needs of our local veterans and helps maintain the Veterans Memorial site just a few short blocks from the rink.

• Grand Opening – Nov. 29, 4 p.m.
• Eagles Autism Event – Dec. 10, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
• Annual Tree Lighting – Dec. 19 4 p.m.
• Santa on the Firetruck - Dec. 20, 4 p.m.
• Silent Headphone Skate Parties – Dates coming soon
• Holiday Movie Nights - Dates coming soon
• Noon Years Eve (NYE party for kids) – Dec. 31, noon to 5 p.m.

In the spirit of giving back, a portion of proceeds generated during this season will once again be donated to support the DCVMA.

Flight on Ice also accepts private bookings for up to 250 guests for Mondays through Thursdays and some limited weekend hours, offering private ice time with skate rentals, heated tents, food and beverage packages, s'mores kits, photo booths, moon bounces, DJs, and more.

The Energy Transfer Veterans Memorial Rink and the Tired Hands Beer Park will be open from Friday, Nov. 29 through Presidents' Day Weekend in February 2025.
