Gunfire Erupts At Delco Burial Service Wednesday: Police

Police said a man took a gun from another person attending the burial at a cemetery and fired shots at the funeral limousine Wednesday.

UPPER DARBY, PA — Authorities in Delaware County are on the hunt for a man who opened fire at a funeral Wednesday.

Upper Darby Police said the incident occurred at Fernwood Cemetery during a burial ceremony.

A Philadelphia family was attending the burial when a dispute began.

Police said the dispute escalated into gunfire.

During the altercation, a male suspect took a firearm from another individual attending the funeral and fired shots at the funeral limousine, according to police.

The suspect then fled the cemetery, police said.

No one was injured.

Police have identified the man and investigators working to secure an arrest warrant.
