Hazardous Waste, Shred Events Set for Saturday
Dispose of your unwanted electronics, paperwork and hazardous waste this weekend.

Two separate recycling events will take place on Saturday, May 4 for residents to dispose of unwanted electronics, papers, and household hazardous waste.

- When: Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to noon
- Where: Brookhaven Borough Building, 2 Cambridge Rd, Brookhaven, PA
- Why Go: Rep. Joe Hackett and Covanta Energy Corporation will host a free electronics collection to help residents recycle. Computers, printers, fax machines, DVD and VCRs, TVs, cell phones, cameras, stereos, and electronic games will be accepted. Prohibited items include loose batteries, hazardous wastes and liquids, toner cartridges, and common electrical appliances.

- Where: Transfer Station, Marpit Drive and Sussex Blvd. in Broomall
- Why Go: Recycle your hazardous waste safely. Acceptable items include; oil-based paint, paint thinner, kerosene, gasoline, heating/motor oil, pool chemicals, antifreeze, mercury switches and thermometers and lead acid, lithium, or re-chargeable batteries. No eletronic waste, like computers, will be collected at this event. Latex paint and asbestos are also not acceptable.
