Highland Avenue Hockey Rink is "Playable"

Marple Township Manager Anthony Hamaday announced that the hockey rink on Highland Avenue in Broomall is ready to be played on.

BROOMALL– Manager Anthony Hamaday announced at last week's Board of Commissioners meeting that the is "playable" with only a few more additions to be added to the park.

"The only thing we have left to do is the fencing around the perimeter of the rink and the perimeter of the basketball and rink area," said Hamaday. "We probably won't put the basketball stands up until probably spring, but that fencing work has been ordered. But it is available to be used."

In addition, painting of the court and rink lines will also be completed in the coming weeks.

Hamaday said he expects the fencing to be completed in the next 30 days at last week's commissioners meeting.

The board unanimously approved the second payment to G. Antonini Construction of $25,447.20 for the work to date on the hockey rink. The board unanimously approved the first payment of $102,150 to the construction company at a commissioners meeting in July.
