In Broomall, the population comprises more than 80 percent white residents, 12 percent Asian residents and less than 5 percent black, American Indian and Hispanic residents according to the American Community Survey. In Newtown Square, the population comprises more than 95 percent white residents and less than 5 percent black, American Indian, Asian and Hispanic residents.
The American Community Survey of 2007-2011 is a sampling report sponsored by the U.S. Census Bureau. It documents the races of residents within a given area across a 60 month span of sampling, and the most frequently identified responses were White, Black, American Indian, Asian or Hispanic. The survey process entails the circulation of questionnaires by county and compilation of the data into yearly estimates.
