Jewelry, Electronics Stolen from Newtown Homes, Police Say

Newtown Police are investigating the theft of jewelry and electronics from two township homes recently.

Jewelry and electronics were stolen from two Newtown Township homes recently, according to Newtown Township Police. 

On May 11, on the 400 block of Merlin Road a woman told police that an Apple Macbook Pro laptop valued at $1,968 was stolen from a first floor office of her home and a Samsung 40 inch TV, valued at $826, and a Samsung 36 inch TV, valued at $550, were stolen from bedrooms, according to police.

The total value of the missing property was about $3,344, according to police.

The victim told police she believed her son, who she claimed was a drug addict, stole the items from her home, according to police.

On May 14, on the 3400 block of West Chester Pike, victims reported to police that jewelry was missing from their house, that also was for sale and had several realtors with clients pass through, according to police.

The victim told police that on May 9 she placed a diamond wedding ring and diamond engagement ring in a small cloth bag in her dresser, out of sight, because she wanted the rings hidden when prospective buyers came through the home, according to police.

When the woman went to retrieve the rings later, she noticed they were missing, according to police, and nothing else appeared to be missing from the home.

The yellow gold band with diamonds all around it and a single diamond band, also in yellow gold, were valued at about $5,000, according to police.
