Late Firefighter's Service To Affect Broomall Traffic Saturday

Broomall Fire Company firefighter Ira Newton "Kerby" Kerber died June 6 at 72 years old. His service Saturday will impact local traffic.

BROOMALL, PA — A memorial service for late Broomall Fire Company firefighter Ira Newton "Kerby" Kerber is being held Saturday in Marple, and Marple Police said the event will require roadway restrictions.

The visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and the service will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Broomall Fire Company, 1 N. Malin Road in Broomall.

Road restrictions will be in place from about 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday:

West Chester Pike westbound will be merged to one lane of travel for regular traffic in the left lane, from Broomall Avenue to East Garden Road. All funeral traffic will utilize the right lane.

North Malin Road will be closed in both directions between West Chester Pike and Fairview Road.

The eastbound turn lane from West Chester Pike to North Malin Road will be completely closed.

Fire apparatus attending will park in the right shoulder on West Chester Pike westbound, beginning immediately west of North Malin Road.
