Lucky Is Not Only Fortunate But Affectionate Too

He’s friendly, he’s playful, he’s affectionate, he's house-trained–and he’s as cute as can be. Lucky is a 2-year-old rabbit, who was rescued by a good samaritan who already had several rabbits of her own. was called upon to help Lucky out. He’s such a delightful little guy that his foster parents–who have taken care of lots of rabbits over the years, can’t stop singing his praises.

When Lucky first arrived to ACDC, he was quite thin and his two bottom front teeth were growing crooked and curving up toward his nose.  ACDC's veterinarian said Lucky’s front teeth would need to be removed because, even with a trim, they would never grow straight enough to be worn down naturally, as with most rabbits. Fortunately, Lucky sailed through the procedure and has adapted beautifully to having a few missing choppers.

Lucky is now at a healthy weight and is eating like a champ. The only extra care he needs is cutting his hay and veggies into small pieces. Not much to ask in return for a non-furniture chewing rabbit, is it?

Please learn about proper rabbit care before deciding to adopt. Rabbits are not easy, low maintenance, “starter” pets. To learn more, check out the website www.rabbit.org and the book, Rabbits for Dummies, by Audrey Pavia. ACDC’s rabbit director can also provide you with a packet of rabbit care information. Amelia is available for adoption through the Animal Coalition of Delaware County. Visit www.acdc.ws or call 610-876-1479 for more information.
