NELL Triumphs in 'Swing For the Cure' Tournament

The Newtown Edgmont Little League won the first annual 'Swing For the Cure' tournament fundraiser that occurred in early September.

’s 11-year-old tournament team won the first annual “Swing for the Cure” baseball tournament that occurred from Sept. 9-11. The tournament fundraiser was hosted by Delaware’s Fox Point Little League and was organized to help promote cancer awareness.

The tournament was in honor of 14-year-old Noxah Palomo, who lost his
battle to AML leukemia last October, and Fox Point’s own Bob Shull. All proceeds benefited the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.

Michael Schlarbaum was also presented with the Noxah Palomo Spirit Award being nominated the MVP of the tournament.
