New Fitness Equipment Donated To Marple Newtown High School
Equipment donated by Planet Fitness and National Fitness Partners include treadmills, free weights, a rack, benches, and stair climbers.
MAPRLE-NEWTOWN, PA — Marple Newtown High School got a donation of new fitness equipment thanks to Planet Fitness and National Fitness Partners.
National Fitness Partners recently donated 10 treadmills, 10 ellipticals, four stair climbers, two smith machines, one assisted dip/pull up, five benches, free weights, and a rack to help improve the high school’s physical education programs.
"Planet Fitness' amazing donation has changed our weight room into a state-of-the-art fitness center," Marple Newtown Athletic Director Chris Gicking said. "We have more students using the Allan K. Jones Fitness Center than ever before, and are extremely grateful for their donation."

This initiative follows the success of Planet Fitness's High School Summer Pass program, which saw over 150,000 teens across Pennsylvania better themselves through exercise.
According to a 2022 survey from Mental Health America, Pennsylvania is ranked No. 1 in having the lowest prevalence of mental illness and one of the highest rates of access to care for youth.

“Planet Fitness’ generous donation of fitness equipment has expanded our physical education courses and athletic programs to provide our students with more opportunities to plan fitness programs, invest time in their personal health, and establish health lifestyles," MNSD Superintendent Dr. Tina Kane said.
