Newtown In Bloom Hosting Goshen Walking Trail Tree Planting Event

The Goshen Walking Trail Tree Planting event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 in Newtown Square.

Date: Saturday, October 19, 9:00-11:30 AM

Location: Goshen Walking Trail, Rt. 252 and Goshen Road, Newtown Square, PA

Work Site: The trail head is located at the rear of the small gravel parking lot behind The Square Tavern. The planting sites are at the far/western end of the trail. Please allow 10 minutes to walk from The Square Tavern parking lot to the work site.

Parking: Limited parking is available at The Square Tavern at the intersection of Rt. 252 and Goshen Road. Please carpool, walk or ride your bike if possible.

Students and Scouts welcome - earn community service hours. Registration encouraged but not required.

Help plant 33 native trees and 30 native shrubs to help provide better air quality, filter stormwater runoff, prevent water puddling on the walkway and buffer automobile noise for walkers. Holes will be partially predug. A professional arborist will demonstrate the proper technique for digging a hole, and planting, staking and mulching trees and shrubs.
