Preliminary Hearings Continued For Newtown Supervisor, Employees in FedEx Case
The preliminary hearings for Newtown Supervisor George Wood, Tax Collector Marie Richards and assistant to former township manager George Clement Jr. have been rescheduled to Sept. 15.

SPRINGFIELD–Thursday's scheduled preliminary hearing for Supervisor George Wood, Tax Collector Marie Richards and George Clement, Jr., assistant to former township manager Jim Sheldrake, involved in the FedEx case have been rescheduled to Sept. 15.
Judge Anthony Scanlon of Springfield Township's District Court #32-2-54 granted the continued hearings of Wood, Richards and Clement, Jr., who were by the District Attorney's Office.
According to the affidavit, Wood had allegedly charged $21 to the township's FedEx account for personal use, $32 allegedly charged from Richards for personal use and $90.76 allegedly charged from Clement, Jr. for personal use.

Preliminary hearings scheduled for Aug. 18 for Wood, Richards and Clement, Jr., were pushed to Thursday, Sept. 1, and were approved for continuance to Sept. 15.

According to the affidavit, among the 35 personal charges made to the FedEx account, Toyzer had 29 shipments made to the Customer Returns Department of Jewelry TV in Knoxville, TN, for a total of $922.73 shipment charges made. Six additional shipments were made to various individuals including family members and other online retail stores such as Venus Swimwear and Ann Taylor Loft, totaling to $163.84.
Toyzer waived her preliminary hearing on Aug. 18, in which the case will now be heard on Sept. 15 but at the Court of Common Pleas in Media.
