Signs, Mailboxes Damaged in Newtown
A 6-foot business sign, valued at $1,200, was removed from a Newtown Township business, recently, police say.

Signs and mailboxes were recently damaged or stolen in Newtown Township.

On April 21, on the 3500 block of Green Countrei Drive in Newtown Square a mailbox was toppled overnight, according to a police report. A large number of nails was also found dropped at the end of the driveway several days earlier, according to the report.
A street sign for Patterson Place, normally located at the intersection with Green Countrie Drive, was also missing from atop the sign post on April 21, according to the report. The sign was valued at $200.

And on May 2, at Top Cuts Hair Salon on the 3700 block of West Chester Pike in Newtown Square, a large aluminum sign was missing, according to the report.
The sign, with the name Top Cuts on it, was found lying on a fence located on the east side of the building, according to the report.
The sign was not attached to anything but was nearly 6 feet in length.
The sign has been at that location for several years and the victim believed it was taken within 48 hours by someone most likely selling it for scrap metal value, according to the report.
The cost of a replacement sign was valued at about $1,200, according to the report.
