DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The latest data on the coronavirus in Delaware County reflects positive trends in the late stages of the pandemic.

Four of the six key coronavirus metrics measured by the Pennsylvania Department of Health have decreased over the past week.

The two that increased were average daily COVID-19 patients on ventilators and the percent of hospital emergency department visits due to COVID-like illnesses.

Average daily COVID-19 patients on ventilators increased from 4.6 to 5.6.

ER visits due to COVID-like illnesses went up from 0.9 percent to 1 percent.

Newly reported confirmed cases dropped from 535 to 460.

Delaware County's incidence rate also went down from 94.4 to 81.2.

The county's PCR testing positivity rare also dropped from 11.8 percent to 11.6 percent.

Average daily COVID-19 specific hospitalizations decreased from 35.4 to 30.4.

To date, Delaware County has had 110,041 confirmed cases and 1,923 virus-related deaths, state data shows.
