Week Ahead: C-R Meeting, Sewer Bills Due

What's going on this week in Marple and Newtown? Here's what we found but be sure to add anything we may have missed in the comments below.
- Newtown Township Board of Supervisors public hearing, regarding the Commercial Residential (C-R) district zoning, will be held at 7 p.m. on July 31.
- More "blasting" at the Muirwood Townhomes is expected around the 200 block of S. Newtown Street Road. Blasting is expected to continue on Monday, July 29 through 31.
- Marple Township sewer bills are due by July 31. The township's finance department will be open to receive payments from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Two for Tuesday DVD rentals at Marple Library. Rent two DVDS for the price of one. Two new releases at $2.12, two older releases for $1.06 or one of each for $1.53. Children's DVDs are always free.
- Animal Encounter at Newtown Library at 2 p.m. on July 30. Meet an owl, a turtle, some snakes and more. Event is free but registration required. Sign up at the library or call 610-353-1022.
- Lego Club at Newtown Library through to July 31. Find more information here.
- Marple and Newtown libraries are now closed on Sundays through August.
- PRC Newtown Square Farmers Market at Mostardi Nursey on Wednesday
- Springfield Road in Springfield Township will be closed between Route 1 (State Road) and Old Marple Road on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through the end of August.
- American Red Cross Blood Drive on July 29, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Denis Grimes Center, Brookline Fire Company, 1315 Darby Road in Havertown and on July 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Swarthmore College, 500 College Avenue in Swarthmore
