Borough to Discuss Houtman Park Design Thursday in Media

  • Government: Media Borough Council workshop meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 1. A few of the items on the agenda include, a discussion on the design of Houtman Park, parking on Lemon and Fourth streets and consideration for a handheld parking meter device. Find the full workshop agenda here. 
  • Sports: "Alzheimer’s Night at the Phillies," at 7:05 p.m. on Aug. 1. Proceeds from all tickets sold through this offer will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter. Ticket-buyers must use the promotion code, ALZN at:phillies.com/alzheimers.
  • Recycle: Area 1 Recycling Collection days in Middletown Township on July 31, Aug. 1 and 2
  • Food: Media Farmers' Market runs from 3 to 7 p.m., next to the Media Theatre
  • Training: Edgmont Township Volunteer Fire Training at 7 p.m. at 1010 Gradyville Road
  • Traffic: Check on your commute on the PennDOT traffic cameras before you leave the house. But the traffic will likely be terrible—it's traffic.
  • Weather: The forecast calls for temperatures to reach about 75 degrees with thunderstorms. Things are expected to cool down to the 60s in the evening. 
  • History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 1981, MTV launched.
