Delco Cop Filmed Young Girls For Over A Year: DA

Authorities said the officer made sexual comments about the children while secretly filming.

MILLBOURNE, PA β€” A Delaware County police officer has been charged after police said he took photos and videos of minors for more than a year.

Mark Mackrell, 52, of Coatesville, is an officer with the Millbourne Borough Police Department in Delaware County.

Mackrell was discovered after on July 22 at the YMCA in East Goshen Township on Airport Road, police said.

Mackrell was at the pool at the YMCA when he began filming two girls playing, a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old, police said.

The girls told their mother, who told YMCA staff. When staff tried to speak with Mackrell, he displayed a badge and identified himself as a police officer, the district attorney's office said.

Investigators discovered Mackrell's identity and searched his phone, finding videos of juveniles dating all the way back to July 2024, according to authorities.

In many of the videos, Mackrell is heard making sexual comments about the children, officials said.

He was arrested on July 31 and released on $100,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
