Gun Flashed During Delco Road Rage Incident: Pennsylvania State Police

A Chester County man was initially charged with making terroristic threats in connection with the incident, but that charge was withdrawn.

MEDIA, PA — Authorities charged a Chester County man after they said he flashed a gun during a road rage incident in Delaware County last month.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred at about 4:23 p.m. Jan. 24 at Gradyville and Middletown roads in Middletown Township.

A 36-year-old West Chester man told police while driving in that area, another motorist showed him a firearm in an attempt to intimidate him, police said.

Authorities later learned the other driver was Richard Jay Jr. Shreiner, 51, of Spring City.

Shreiner was taken into custody that same day by state police and charged with making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and simple assault.

Authorities later withdrew the terroristic threat and disorderly conduct charges, according to court records.

Shreiner was released from custody on Jan. 27 after posting 10 percent of $50,000.

He is scheduled for an April 2 formal arraignment, court documents show.
