Media Runners To Race In 2023 Boston Marathon

Check out how and when to watch live as runners from Media take on the 2023 Boston Marathon 26.2-mile race on Monday.

MEDIA, PA β€” Runners from Media will be lining up on Monday along with nearly 30,000 others to tackle one of the most iconic and notable road races β€” the 2023 127th Boston Marathon on April 17.

The Boston Marathon takes place each year on Patriots' Day β€” a Massachusetts holiday commemorating the opening battles of the American Revolutionary War. The day begins with military marchers at 6 a.m., with several waves of athletes beginning the race in Hopkinton throughout the morning.

  • Download the Boston Athletic Association's racing app, which is free on iPhone and Android devices.
  • Follow along on the B.A.A. website, which will change April 17 to allow people to track runners on race day.

  • 6 a.m.: military marchers
  • 9:02 a.m.: wheelchair division, men
  • 9:05 a.m.: wheelchair division, women
  • 9:30 a.m.: handcycle and duo participants
  • 9:37 a.m.: professional men
  • 9:47 a.m.: professional women
  • 9:50 a.m. para-athletics divisions
  • 10 a.m.: Wave 1
  • 10:25 a.m.: Wave 2
  • 10:50 a.m.: Wave 3
  • 11:15 a.m.: Wave 4

How to Watch:

  • ESPN will broadcast the 127th Boston Marathon, scheduled to take place on Monday, April 17, on its flagship channel from 8:30 a.m. ET until 1 p.m. ET.
  • In addition, ESPN will also have coverage of the race within SportsCenter before the live coverage and later in the day, as well as coverage appearing on other ESPN shows and platforms.
