MLS, National, World Cup Players Rally For Ukraine In Philly Area

Former U.S. National, MLS, and World Cup players will be meeting fans, giving autographs and more in Chester and North Wales this weekend.

CHESTER, PA β€” In a show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people, former U.S. National Team, MLS, and World Cup Legends will participate in two events this weekend in the Philadelphia area.

The soccer stars will be in Chester Saturday and North Wales Sunday for the charity fundraiser "Legends for Peace."

At 5 p.m. on Saturday, the players will be in attendance at the friendly match between the Philadelphia Union and Mexico’s C.F. Pachuca at Subaru Park in Chester.

The legends will be in the park's plaza on hand to meet and interact with the fans through a series of activities and participate in an autograph session.

In attendance will be MLS and World Cup and former U.S. National Team players including Philadelphia Union icon SΓ©bastien Le Toux, former US National World Cup Team members and MLS player including Maurice Edu, DaMarcus Beasley, Oguchi Onyewu, Alecko Eskandarian, Kyle Martino, Bryan Jordan, Chris Seitz, Mike Grella, Chris Pontius, Chris Wingert, AurΓ©lien Collin, Fred, Ilsinho, and legendary US Women’s World Cup and US Olympic Champions, Heather Mitts and Lori Lindsey among many other soccer legends.

Access to the autograph session is granted through the purchase of a Legends for Peace T-shirt, of which 100 percent of net proceeds benefit the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee, Good360 and the Global Empowerment Mission.

During halftime at the game, the Union will welcome Legends players returning to Subaru Park, with player introductions, and a crossbar challenge.

Then on Sunday, the Legends will attend a soccer fan fest at the Ukrainian American Sports Center, in North Wales from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The legends will be on hand to meet and interact with the fans through a series of activities and participate in an autograph session.

A friendly match between the Ukrainian National Soccer Club and the Legends will round out the afternoon of fun for soccer fans and their families, in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.

Attendees are also asked to bring new and used soccer equipment to be sent to children in Ukraine, as part of a National "Pass Back" program.

The Ukrainian American Sport Center-Tryzub is located at 1 Lower State Road in North Wales.
