Person, Dog Die In Delaware County House Fire Monday
A house fire Monday morning in Delaware County was extinguished quickly, but a person and a dog died as a result of the fire.
MARCUS HOOK, PA — One person and one dog died in a house fire in Delaware County Monday, according to emergency responders.
The Marcus Hook Trainer Fire Department said crews were called to a home on the 200 block of Market Street in Marcus Hook for a building fire with entrapment at about 10 a.m. Monday.
There, they found a two-story twin home with smoke billowing from it.

Crews placed hose lines to battle the blaze and started searching for any entrapped residents.
One person was rescued from the home's second floor. That person later died from their injuries.

The fire department said a dog also died as a result of the fire.
Two other people were taken to a hospital for treatment after the fire.
Within 30 minutes, the fire was put under control.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
