School Cancellations, Speed Restrictions: How Delaware County is Dealing With the Snow

Plus, how much snow did we get?

Delaware County awoke Tuesday to snow, school cancellations and speed restrictions on area roadways.

Speed restrictions were imposed on a number of area roadways Tuesday morning. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph on:

  • Interstates 76, 95, 476, 676;
  • U.S. Routes 1, 30, 202, 422, and
  • State Routes 63, 100 Spur and 309.

“Although PennDOT crews are treating roadways, the department’s primary goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice and snow. PennDOT will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear,” the agency said in a statement.
