Watch Allie Wilson's 800 Meter Olympic Race At Strath Haven HS Friday
Wallingford's Allie Wilson will race in the women's 800-meter Olympic Friday. And her alma mater is hosting a watch party.

WALLINGFORD, PA β The Wallingford community, and Delaware County as a whole, is gearing up to root for their own Allie Wilson in the Paris Olympics track and field competition Friday.
Wilson, 28 and a Wallingford native, will race in heat six of the women's 800-meter Friday.
Heat one is expected to begin at 1:45 p.m.

And Visit Delco, PA is hosting a watch party for locals to cheer her on. The community is invited to Strath Haven High School Friday for the watch party.
Gates open at 1 p.m. Attendees can sit in the stands at the school or bring blankets to sit on the turf. Chairs are not permitted at the watch party.

Wilson qualified for the Paris Olympics at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon on Monday, June 24. She clocked a time of 1:58.32, coming in second behind University of Pennsylvania graduate Nia Akins (1:57.36) and ahead of Juliette Whittaker (1:58.45) in third.
Wilson is ranked 14th in the world for the 800-meter race, and has a personal best time of 1:57.52, which is also her season best time.
The women's 800 meter semifinal is scheduled for Aug. 4 and the final Aug. 5.
