Week Ahead: RTM School Board Meeting, Last Dining Under the Stars

What's going on this week in the greater Media area? Here's what we found but be sure to add anything we may have missed in the comments below.

• Rose Tree Media Board of School Directors meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 26
• The last Dining Under the Stars for the season is this Wednesday. Make your reservations now. 
• Salad Stop in Media closes on Sept. 27
• Middletown Township Council meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 23. Council will continue to hold public hearings continued from the Sept. 9 meeting regarding Ponds Edge and as well as a Conditional Use Application of Avis Budget Group for approval to establish a rental facility in a portion of the existing Sears Auto Center. Find the full agenda here.
• Upper Providence Township Planning Commission meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 24. The Final Land Development Plan for park improvements of Houtman Park will be discussed. Find the full agenda here. 
  
• Noodle Challenge from 4:15 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 26 at Middletown Library. Split into teams and given supplies, kids will have 30 minutes to build a tower out of spaghetti noodles. The team with the tallest tower will win a prize. For kids ages 5 and up.
• Books and Breakfast from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 25 at Chick-fil-A Lima. Kids can free Cheerios while adults can enjoy free coffee while Middletown Library's Mr. Jason reads some of his favorite picture books and there will be a craft. Registration is not required.
• Time Bank Community Potluck from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Media Community Center, 301 N. Jackson Street. This month's focus is the importance of seeds to the future of the food supply. Joel Fath from the Philly Seed Exchange and Charmaine Rusin from GMO-free PA will be the speakers. Please bring your heirloom seeds for a seed swap and your favorite heirloom fruits and veggies from which to extract seeds, or any perennial plants you can divide and swap. Don't forget your covered dish for the potluck, as well. 
  
• Quizzo at 8 p.m. on Sept. 23 at Stephen's on State
• Beer Flight Night at Picasso Restaurant on Sept. 25. For just $10, try five 4-ounce pours of any of their beers on draft.
• Psychic Tuesday with Vee at 7 p.m. at Stephen's on State on Sept. 24
• Live a Healthy Life Workshop from 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 at Surrey in Media. The workshop for adults with diabetes, cardiac or pulmonary disease, arthritis, anxiety or any other ongoing health condition can learn how to communicate effectively with doctors and family, eat well, relax, manage pain and gain control of your life. The free 6-week workshop for adults age 60 and older who live in Delaware County will be offered every Wednesday through Oct. 30.
