Woman Charged in Car Theft at Body Shop

 reported the following incidents and arrests in the township. Each incident reflects police records and is not an indication of guilt.

• Lauren D. Shaffer, 32, of Crescent, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property on March 29. Crescent Police charged Shaffer with briefly stealing a car parked at Grady's Auto Sales and Body Shop in Crescent.

• , 28, of Clinton, was charged with theft of more than $200 on April 12 in the 1300 block of Main Street. Crescent Police said he fraudulently attempted to receive payment for 90 pounds of copper from a metal yard after bringing only 10 pounds for payment. 

• Charles Alvin McCartney, 60, of Crescent, was charged with simple physical assault on April 30 in the 60 block of McGovern Boulevard.
