Five Things You Need to Know This Week

A rundown of the week's soon-to-be big stories and upcoming events for Monday, May 16.

1. Township meetings scheduled for this week

The Moon Transportation Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Sky Room at the . The township's Environmental Advisory Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the township's

2. Public Works department meets with residents

Township officials and members of the department will host an open house for residents from 1 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the township's Public Works garage on Stevenson Mill Road. 

The event is aimed at teaching residents about Public Works projects, including road maintenance, snow repair and street-sign welding.

3. Moon Students Take to the Stage in Cinderella 

The musical Cinderella will open at 7 p.m. Saturday, marking the first performance in the district's new high school auditorium. 

Tickets for the event are $10 for students and $12 for adults. They will be available prior to each performance.

4. Moon-area sports take place all week

The spring sports season is in full swing. Baseball, softball and volleyball games are scheduled throughout the week. Check out a schedule here.  

5. Knitting group meets at Township Library

The will hold its regular knitting group at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sky Room. Knitters of all levels are welcome at the meetings, which are free to attend. No registration is required.
