Moon Area School District Receives School Safety Grant

State officials have awarded the Moon Area School District $9,764 in grant money to support programs that prevent incidents of violence in the district. 

Pennsylvania Senator-elect Matt Smith, D-Mt. Lebanon, and Rep. Mark Mustio, R-Moon, announced today that the district will receive a portion of the nearly $480,000 Safe Schools Target Grant.

Districts are eligible to receive up to $15,000 under the program. The program assists schools in developing anti-violence efforts, and in providing professional instruction to staff, according to a joint statement from Smith and Mustio.
