RMU Suspends Basketball Guard

Karon Abraham has been arrested twice in the past six months on alcohol-related charges.

Robert Morris University has suspended guard Karon Abraham from the basketball team for the 2011-2012 season, citing a violation of the university's athletic policy.

Abraham, 20, has been arrested twice in the last six months -- once in November for two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and underage drinking in Coraopolis and again for underage drinking on April 23 in Moon.

"We have policies within the athletic department at Robert Morris University regarding student-athlete behavior," RMU athletics director Craig Coleman said. "Whether you are the fourth-string punter or the starting guard on the basketball team, the policy applies to everyone. We hope Karon can make use of this time to adjust his behavior and attitude."
