Robinson EMS to Throw Rock Concert To Raise Funds for Equipment

Robinson Township EMS will host a concert to raise funds as part of its capital campaign to replace aging equipment and revamp its Church Hill Road office. 

The Robinson-based classic rock band The Collision will play a show Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Moon Run Fire Hall to collect donations for the campaign. 

"The EMS relies primarily on fundraisers like this to get money," said Cora DeLoia, a member of the Friends of the Robinson EMS organization, which assists in fundraising for the company. 

"They've been in that (Church Hill Road) building for 30 years, and it needs a lot of repairs, and the funding would really help," she said.  

The EMS company, which provides services to Robinson, Crafton, Thornburg and Rosslyn Farms, is funded through revenue generated by 911 calls and non-emergency ambulance transports, in addition to its annual capital campaign and subscription drive. 

The company does not receive direct tax subsidies from the municipalities it serves.

DeLoia said the concert will be the first fundraiser of its kind for the organization. 

"The whole idea is to bring attention to the work and the services that the Robinson EMS does in the community," DeLoia said.

• The fundraiser will take place at 7 p.m. at the Moon Run Fire Hall at 5624 Steubenville Pike in Robinson. Admission is $5.
