Board of Supervisors Approve Moon 2012 Preliminary Budget

The board will vote on the final version of the budget at its Dec. 14 workshop meeting.

The Wednesday approved the township's 2012 preliminary budget, which maintains current tax rates.

Supervisors will vote on the final version of the budget at the Dec. 14 workshop meeting. 

The township's 2012 property tax rate will remain at 3.28 mills, which includes a .2-mill fire tax to fund equipment and training costs for the township's volunteer fire department.

The 2012 general operating budget is $11.4 million. $1.37 million will be transferred to the township's capital reserve fund for programs including summer road resurfacing.  

The preliminary budget is available for a 20-day public review at the Moon Municipal Building.
