VP Candidate Paul Ryan Coming to Moon for Saturday Rally

The GOP candidate plans a campaign stop here before heading to other events later in the day.

The 2012 race for the White House is coming to Moon.

GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will appear Saturday in Moon Township for a campaign rally. 

Billy Pitman, spokesman for the Republican National Committee, confirmed that the event will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Atlantic Aviation hangar at 300 Horizon Drive in Moon, just outside Pittsburgh International Airport. Doors open at 8:15.

All attendees at the event will go through airport-like security before being admitted. Cameras are allowed, but attendees are asked to not bring sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs, according to the announcement. 

The Secret Service has contacted Moon Township Police regarding the campaign event, said dispatcher Don Neely.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that Ryan will follow the event with a campaign stop in Ohio.
