Emergency crews responded to the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road Friday morning after a man was found passed out inside a building.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — One person is dead and another has been hospitalized following a carbon monoxide leak at a residential building in Solebury Township Friday morning, according to Solebury Township Police.

Emergency crews responded to a carriage house in the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road around 6:30 a.m. for a 9-1-1 call of a man passed out on the first floor of the building.

The woman was provided life-saving emergency medical care on scene, but was later pronounced dead by the Bucks County Coroner's Office, police said.

New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company was also on the scene and detected a high level of carbon monoxide at the property. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas.

The two paramedics who were overcome by the gas were taken to Doylestown Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition and being treated for carbon monoxide exposure. A Solebury Twp. police officer also was treated at the scene for minor exposure.

A preliminary investigation shows a possible malfunction with a heating unit, police said.

The identities of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family members.
