New Hope Celebrates has proposed a bold new art project on West Mechanic Street.

"This landmark has the potential to become a major attraction, drawing visitors and boosting foot traffic for our local businesses," he said. "It’s a project that not only celebrates diversity but also contributes to the economic vitality of New Hope, reinforcing our town as a welcoming destination for all."

According to New Hope Celebrates, the initiative aims to:

  • Enhance Community Pride: The installation will feature the colors of the Progress Pride Flag, representing diversity and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and other marginalized groups. It is a visual reminder of New Hope’s values of inclusivity and unity.
  • Attract Visitors: This unique and colorful art installation is expected to draw both locals and tourists to the area, boosting engagement and driving support for nearby businesses.
  • Foster Connections: As a public landmark, the installation will create a space for dialogue on equality, representation, and community values, encouraging residents and visitors to connect over shared experiences and perspectives.
  • Create a Lasting Impact: The Progress Pride Flag art installation will serve as a lasting symbol of New Hope’s commitment to embracing diversity and progress, inspiring future generations to continue building a more inclusive community.

NHC is calling on community members to show their support by signing the petition.

"This collective effort will demonstrate to local decision-makers the strong desire to bring this meaningful landmark to life," said Patterson. "Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to add their names to the petition and share why they believe New Hope would benefit from this powerful public art project."
