Flood Watch In Effect For New Hope, Lambertville Through 2 A.M.

Several rounds of showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected in the area tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — A flood watch is in effect for the Delaware River towns of New Hope and Lambertville from 12 p.m. Thursday through 2 a.m. Friday, as scattered rainfall and thunderstorms are moving through the area.

The National Weather Service said general accumulation will likely land between 1.5 and 2.5 inches, but sudden thunderstorms could present a risk of flash flooding.

"Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations," the weather service alert reads. "Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded."
