Lahaska's Holy 'Que Smokehouse To Relaunch, Celebrate National BBQ Month
"BBQ is one of my biggest passions, and for the sole reason that it's all about community," the Bucks County pitmaster said.
LAHASKA, PA — Bucks County's authentic Texas-style barbecue spot is returning post-pandemic to offer free sides with any platter purchased, in celebration of national BBQ month in May.
Holy 'Que Smokehouse is offering an array of staples post-pandemic including brisket, pulled pork, sandwiches, platters, desserts, and more. Since May is National BBQ month, the eatery is offering a complimentary side — like mac 'n cheese, cider slaw, or honey cornbread — with any platter for dine-in or takeaway.
Owned and operated by Pitmaster Tom Peters, Holy ‘Que Smokehouse has been a hit with locals and visitors of nearby Peddler’s Village since opening in November 2020.

“BBQ is one of my biggest passions, and for the sole reason that it’s all about community,” said Tom Peters, Pitmaster and Founder of Holy ‘Que Smokehouse. “It’s the only food that brings people together, which we’ve seen in the depths of the pandemic and after.”
Peters is a self-taught Pitmaster who spent six years perfecting the art of Texas-style barbecue following a trip to Austin, Texas where he was inspired by the craft and blown away by the cuisine's simplicity in three elements: salt, pepper, and smoke. His menu is heavily-influenced by traditional BBQ — incorporating smoked meats, classic sides, and decadent sweet treats typically found in the southern states.

Highlights from the robust menu include meat served by the pound, like pork spare ribs (half/full racks), brats, brisket, pulled pork, and turkey; an array of toppling sandwiches including The Holy Grail prepared with brisket, pulled pork, and links, a riff on the “Sloppy Joe” incorporating shredded brisket dubbed Texas Joe; and a crowd-pleasing Brisket Cheesesteak utilizing chopped brisket, sautéed onions, and house-made cooper sharp and cheddar cheese blend.
All sandwiches are served on Martin’s squishy rolls with generous portions of pickled red onions on the side.
Platters include The Holy Trinity prepared with brisket, brats, and spare ribs with one side; Pitmaster’s Choice, a choice of four meats at ¼ pound each and three sides hand-selected by Peters; and Lone Star, which consists of three meats (half pound each) and four sides.
The impressive line-up of side orders includes Pinto Beans, Mac ‘N’ Cheese, Cider Slaw, Creamed Corn, Green Beans, and Honey Cornbread.
The smokehouse also boasts decadent house-made desserts including Cast Iron Cookie and Banana Pudding — ideal for capping off a hearty, indulgent meal. Imbibers can BYOB or opt for a non-alcoholic beverage including Sweet Tea, Big Red, Boylans Black Cherry, and more to pair with their meal.
The smokehouse is open between Thursday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Early arrival is encouraged as supply can sell out fast. Pre-order and online ordering are available here.
