Lambertville's ShadFest: What You Need To Know This Weekend

The festival is essential "with what often seems like the chipping away of our collective history and culture," Lambertville's mayor said.

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — ShadFest, Lambertville's epic celebration honoring 29 years of "fun, family, and fish," returns Saturday and Sunday.

"The festival has evolved from a local art show into a nationally recognized award-winning event," the event description reads. "ShadFest features the area’s finest artists and crafters, great food, and family entertainment."

The weekend extravaganza offers vendors of all kinds, including shad fishing demonstrations and an art and poster auction.

Mayor Andrew Nowick shared his reflections on the "Delaware River Shad Fishing Report" and iconic fishing local Steve Meserve in a report Thursday.

"The act of fishing, as everyone knows, may be the most perfect metaphor for life: in its pursuit, we find luck, determination, patience, the vagaries of weather on our moods, the catch, the disappointments, the laughter, and so on," he wrote.
