New Hope Police Were Called On Same Woman 3 Times In 3 Days: PD

Police said the intoxicated woman then punched an officer before being taken in an ambulance to the local hospital.

NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope Borough Police Department responded to a number of incidents in February and March.

Friday, Feb. 25

11:51 p.m. — Police were dispatched to a bar on South Main Street for reports of an intoxicated person. The 39-year-old Langhorne man was cooperative and was escorted by police out of the establishment, where his friend was waiting for an Uber to go back to their hotel in Lambertville.

3:13 p.m. — Officers responded to a cardiac arrest call on South Main Street. Police made contact with a 32-year-old female victim who was unresponsive. The victim was taken to the local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

9:01 p.m. — While monitoring traffic in the area of Sugan Road and West Bridge Street, officers saw someone perform a slow wide turn and enter the other lane. The 63-year-old New Hope woman pulled into a parking lot on West Bridge Street and got out of her car. Officers saw her stumble and fall down. When they approached her, they smelled alcohol. She was taken to the hospital and charges will proceed by summons.

Saturday, March 5

8:25 p.m. — Police responded to a call from dispatch to the area of Union Square Drive for a group of 10 to 12 disorderly people making threats. Upon arrival, the group was no longer there and officers couldn't find them.

Monday, March 7

10:15 a.m. — Police responded to Rolling Hills Court after being notified of an active warrant for a wanted 58-year-old man from New Hope. The man was put in custody and released to the Bucks County Sheriffs.

11:48 p.m. — Police were dispatched for a wellbeing check near Arden Way where a possible domestic disturbance was in progress. They responded to the residence and spoke with a couple who had been arguing. Officers spoke with both parties and deescalated the situation.

Wednesday, March 9

12:59 a.m. — While patrolling the area of South Main Street, an officer saw a car fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Deer Path. Immediately following that traffic violation, the officer saw the car fail to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Riverwoods Drive and West Riverwoods Drive. The officer stopped the 18-year-old male driver from New Hope. As the officer approached the vehicle, they smelled air fresheners which gave cause for suspicion of drugs. The person agreed to a vehicle search, which revealed drug paraphernalia. Charges to proceed by summons.

Thursday, March 10

2:21 a.m. — An officer saw a car drift out of its lane twice near New Hope-Solebury High School. The officer followed the car and saw erratic maneuvers. He pulled over the car driven by a 25-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, smelled alcohol coming from the car, and observed slurred speech. Charges to proceed by summons.

3:12 p.m. — An officer was following up on a noise complaint in the New Hope Shopping Center parking lot called into the station. During the follow up, the officer saw a man playing a violin with an amplifier and another man holding a sign asking for money for kids and medicine. Police told them they could stay if the property merchants agreed but that they would have to unplug the amplifier due to the Borough Noise Ordinance. They unplugged, packed up, and left the parking lot.

4:48 p.m. — While patrolling West Bridge Street, an officer saw a large plume of black smoke coming from a nearby restaurant, then drove by and saw the smoke starting to dissipate. The New Hope Eagle Fire Company arrived on scene and determined that the fire was in the kitchen.

Friday, March 11

12:05 p.m. — An officer was sent to a business near the New Hope Shopping Center for a report of someone illegally dumping trash in the dumpster behind the business. Officers identified the person and asked them to remove the rubbish from the dumpster.

4:45 p.m. — While an officer was investigating another incident on South Main Street, a store owner approached them about a retail theft at their business. Police stopped a 55-year-old woman from Philadelphia, arrested her, and returned the stolen merchandise.

Saturday, March 12

1:09 a.m. — Dispatch advised officers of an "unwanted" person at a restaurant on West Bridge Street. A 67-year-old New Jersey man was sleeping in an inoperable truck in the rear of the property. Officers told him he is not allowed to return to the property and if he does, he would be arrested for trespassing.

10:43 p.m. — An officer was told a 55-year-old Philadelphia woman paid for two items and sold three bottles of wine from a local grocery store. The person was identified from a credit card payment in which she bought the two items. Officers were familiar with her from a prior incident the day before. Charges to proceed by summons.

Sunday, March 13

4:01 p.m. — Officers were flagged down by a concerned person at the New Hope-Solebury High School parking lot for a wellbeing check of a highly intoxicated woman seated on a bench. While officers were talking with the 55-year-old Philadelphia woman, she opened the back door of the car, got in, and fell asleep. Officers were familiar with her due to two prior incidents in the past two days. Officers took her into custody and called the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad. While trying to get her into the ambulance, she punched an officer in the head. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released back into police custody. Officers arraigned her and she was taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
