New Hope‑Solebury To Participate In Duke Of Edinburgh’s Youth Initiative
The Duke Of Edinburgh Award is a globally recognized youth development program for young people ages 14–24.
NEW HOPE, PA — The New Hope‑Solebury School District (NHSD) has been selected to participate in the internationally respected Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) program.
Beginning this school year, NHSD will offer students the opportunity to pursue the Bronze Award, providing them with a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful volunteer service, personal development, physical fitness, and outdoor adventure.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a globally recognized youth development initiative for young people aged 14–24. Each participant designs a personalized program, choosing activities that align with their interests and passions.

In this inaugural year, nearly 200 students at NHSD have already expressed interest in pursuing the award, reflecting a strong desire among students to challenge themselves, grow their skills, and make a positive impact in their community.
NHSD leadership is committed to helping all students thrive and empowering learners for a world of possibilities. School leaders will play a supportive role, guiding students through the program and providing guidance and encouragement as they navigate the Bronze Award process.

The Bronze Award focuses on four core components:
- Volunteering
- Physical Fitness
- Skills Development
- Outdoor Expedition
As students progress, the program offers the opportunity to pursue Silver and Gold levels, each increasing in challenge, duration, and responsibility.
