Animated Film, Meat Loaf Tribute This Weekend At The Newtown Theatre

With a rainy Saturday in the forecast, the historic Newtown Theatre offers a warm and dry escape from the weather.

NEWTOWN, PA — With a rainy Saturday in the forecast, the historic Newtown Theatre offers a warm and dry escape from the weather with the showing of an animated film and a Meat Loaf tribute show.

The theatre will be presenting two events on Saturday including the showing of the animated film, "Spirited Away," from 10 a.m. to noon and a performance by "All Revved Up: The Ultimate Meat Loaf Tribute Band" from 8 to 10 p.m.

"Spirited Away" follows a young girl named Chihiro who becomes trapped in a mysterious spirit world after her parents are transformed into pigs. As she works in a magical bathhouse run by the witch Yubaba, Chihiro must find the courage and determination to free her parents and return to the human world.

Tickets are $14 (general admission), $12 (students and seniors 65 and older) and $8 for theatre members. To order tickets, click here. Any tickets not sold before the show will be available at the door 30 minutes before the movie starts.

All Revved Up - an eight-piece Meat Loaf Tribute Band that brings the look, the sound, and the show - will take the stage from 8 to 10 p.m.

The band plays everyone’s favorite Meat Loaf songs while putting on a fantastic stage show with choreography, props, stage design, and costume changes – all to take you on an epic rock ‘n roll journey.

Band leader John Doboe and the band give a spot-on tribute show loaded with authenticity that leaves the audience spellbound.

Tickets are $40 (general admission) and $34.99 for theatre members. VIP tickets for the first five rows are $53. To order tickets, click here. Any tickets not sold before the show will be available at the door 30 minutes before the movie starts at a cost of $50.

Free parking is available along North State Street, in the municipal lot between Washington and Centre Avenue, and in the municipal lot next to Newtown Borough Hall (23 North State Street).
