NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Santa will be sitting down to brunch with his many admirers during a benefit breakfast for Shop With A Cop on Sunday, Dec. 15 at the American Legion Hall on Linden Avenue.

Santa is expected to arrive at the brunch aboard a fire truck provided by Newtown Fire Rescue.

“What better way to experience that warm holiday feeling of giving then to give back to the kids in need in our community by attending our brunch and raising funds for Shop With A Cop,” said organizer Heather Roberts. “Our brunch will have it all - great food, great people, a great experience - and all for a great cause.”

“Joe Garvey is an amazing cook. The food was so good last year and the French toast he made was off the charts,” said Roberts. “Everything he makes is absolutely over the top. It is so good.”

According to Roberts, there will be two seatings - 9 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition to brunch, students from Council Rock will be there offering face painting and a craft corner for the kids.

Santa will also be available to meet with his young admirers, to hear their wish lists and for photographs.

The cost is $20 with kids under 4 admitted for free. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.

The event is being presented by Bucks County-based nonprofit Keystone Community Coalition as a benefit for Shop With A Cop, a program that pairs kids facing challenging circumstances with cops as they shop for gifts for themselves and their family members.

Earlier this year, the locally-based nonprofit raised $135,000 for Upper Makefield police and firefighters during a gala event at Rosebank Winery in Newtown.
