NEWTOWN, PA — "Just Between Friends" (JBF) will hold a children's consignment pop-up clothing sale in Lower Bucks County from Wednesday, April 23 to Saturday, April 26 at the Newtown Sports & Events Center at 207 Penns Trail, Newtown.

With a mission to recycle children’s nearly new items, JBF sales promote sustainability and support local communities across the country. Founded in 1997, the organization has grown into a nationwide phenomenon, positively impacting local economies, families, and the environment.

"Just Between Friends" is an easy and fun way for families to help the environment through “recycling by reselling." In this case, sustainability starts in the closet with moms and dads saving the planet "one piece of clothing at a time," said local sale organizers Cassandra Bartle and Lin Fisher.

"The EPA says as a country, we throw away 10 million tons of clothing per year and it ends up in landfills. In fact, the average family throws out 85 percent of their clothing every year, according to Business Insider," said Cassandra and Lin.

The Just Between Friends four-day pop-up consignment sale in Lower Bucks could help keep up to 21,000 pounds of clothing and 12,000 pounds of plastics out of local landfills, said the organizers.

"JBF offers an easy way to make money and save money, all while making eco-friendly choices. It's a practical example of how sustainability can be woven into everyday life," said Cassandra and Lin.

Families can sign up to sell new and gently used items their children have outgrown or have never worn. They prep the items and price them with a simple, online tagging system, drop off their items and JBF does the rest of the work. Sellers can earn up to 70 percent of the sale price.

Families can also shop and save up to 90 percent on items for their families: clothing, shoes, toys, games, baby equipment, outdoor gear and much more.

Just Between Friends also gives back, donating unsold items to local charities, including Fostering Hope Lower Buck and The Baby Bureau, which provides free clothing, shoes, books, school supplies and more to families in need.

The event kicks off on Wednesday, April 23 with a special “community heroes” presale for teachers, health care workers, military, first responders as well as first time parents and grandparents. The sale is then open to the public from Thursday, April 24 to Saturday, April 26. See below for the full schedule and times.
