Coming Attractions: Concerts, Science Show At The Newtown Theatre

Tribute bands to bring the music of Guns N' Roses, Quarter Flash, Queen, the Allman Brothers and more to the theatre.

NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will feature a variety of tribute concerts plus a “Mad Science” show in the coming days and weeks. The lineup includes:

  • “The Music of Johnny Mathis” on Wednesday, April 9 at 3 p.m. Vocalist Massimo Brutto and a six-piece band will bring classics like “Misty,” “Chances Are,” and “Wonderful, Wonderful” to life at this special matinee concert.
  • “Guns 4 Roses: A Tribute to Guns N’ Roses” on Friday, April 11 at 8 p.m. The ultimate rock-and-roll tribute experience: long hair, leather pants, sunglasses, bandanas, Les Pauls, plus all the monster hits.
  • “Queen Flash: The Real Tribute to Queen” on Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. (3 p.m. show is sold out). Queen Flash is a six-piece band that puts on a high-energy show that is fronted by Johnny Zatylny, a look-a- like, sound-a-like Freddie Mercury.
  • “Mad Science Returns” on Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. Enjoy hair-raising science experiments, chemical reactions, fantastic forces, amazing demonstrations, and plenty of audience participation. Entertaining and educational for adults and children ages three and over.
  • “Story Songs of the 70s” on Wednesday, April 16 at 3 p.m. This special matinee concert will feature some of the greatest story songs of the 1970s from three of the era’s most-beloved singer/songwriters – Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, and Harry Chapin.
  • “Dueling Pianos & Music Trivia” on Friday, April 18 at 8 p.m. This twist on a traditional dueling pianos concert will include interactive music trivia sprinkling throughout the show. The audience will play along with the trivia on their phones while enjoying the high-energy duo of pianists Steve and Jennie Luhman.
  • “A Tribute to The Allman Brothers & Grateful Dead” on Saturday, April 19 at 8 p.m. Steal Your Peach blends the timeless sounds of two iconic rock legends, staying true to the original tunes while infusing their own improvisational spirit.

Tickets for all events are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com. Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theatre before and during the shows. The theatre is located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown Borough.
