2 Taken Into Custody For Suspected Narcotics: Newtown Crime Report
Police investigate retail theft at the Village at Newtown; arrest man for passing counterfeit bills at township businesses.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between April 11 and April 16:
April 11
- At approximately 2 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Lexus in the area of Meridian Circle after receiving information from the Middletown Township Police Department regarding the occupants’ involvement in a robbery/PFA violation that occurred in their jurisdiction. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence, and the driver and passenger were taken into custody without incident.
April 14

- At approximately 4 p.m., police were dispatched to a local business for a counterfeit incident in progress. As a result of an investigation, a man was taken into custody for using counterfeit bills at several local businesses in Newtown Township and surrounding areas. The man was processed and arraigned by District Judge Baranowski, and bail was set at 10 percent of $250,000.
April 15
- At approximately 5:30 p.m., police were dispatched to Ulta Beauty on South Eagle Road for the report of a retail theft that occurred on April 13. The total value of loss was $2,016.
