Fraudulent Activity Results In Large Monetary Loss: Newtown Twp. Crime Report
Traffic stop yields suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia, retail thefts under investigation.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between August 31 and September 4:
August 31
- At approximately 4 p.m. police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of fraud involving impersonation and a large monetary loss. The investigation is ongoing.
September 2

- At approximately 12:40 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Honda Civic for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of the Newtown Bypass and Newtown Gate Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug equipment were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
- Police were contacted around 8:15 p.m. in regards to a retail theft that occurred at Acme Markets on West Road the previous day. The total value of loss was $525, and the investigation is ongoing.
September 3
- At approximately 12:30 p.m. police responded to a Newtown Township home for the report of suspicious circumstances and theft. The investigation remains ongoing.
September 4

- At approximately 9 a.m. police were dispatched for a theft of wire that occurred in Newtown Township. The investigation remains ongoing.
- Police were contacted at 10:45 p.m. about a theft from a vehicle that occurred in Wrightstown Township. Police remind all residents to remain diligent in locking their vehicles and removing keys and valuables from their cars when not in use.
