Frost Lane Sidewalk Project Goes Out To Bid In Newtown Borough
The new sidewalk will link the Newtown Trail via Washington and Lincoln avenues with the site of the future pedestrian bridge on Edgeboro.

NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — The Newtown Borough Council this week voted to solicit bids for the construction of a new sidewalk on Frost Lane.
The new sidewalk will be built on the north side of the street between Lincoln Avenue and Edgeboro Drive.
“This is a long time in coming,” said council president Emily Heinz. “This is an unsafe street (for pedestrians) but we’re working on it. It’s going to be great. It’s going to be a good addition.”

The walkway will provide a missing link connecting the Newtown Trail via Washington and Lincoln avenues with the site of the future pedestrian bridge at Edgeboro Drive and Frost Lane.
Last year, the state awarded Newtown Township just shy of $1 million to build the new pedestrian bridge, which will span the Newtown Creek between Edgeboro Drive in Newtown Borough and North Sycamore Street in Newtown Township in the vicinity of Penn Community Bank.
