MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Indivisible Bucks County, a progressive special interest group resisting the move to the right, will stage a "Bring Them Home" protest on Thursday, May 1 beginning at 5 p.m. in front of the offices of Bucks County Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick at One Summit Square (Route 413 at the Newtown Bypass).

"We will be using all of May Day to advocate for the fair treatment of our nation’s immigrant population, with an afternoon rally preceded by a day of making constituent comments in person and delivering letters on that same topic from members of their social circles," said Indivisible spokesperson Kierstyn Zolfo. "Constituents will call upon Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick to use his powers as the region’s member of our Article One branch of government to stand against the cruel actions of the Trump Administration, and to follow in his colleagues’ footsteps to visit the El Salvador prison where these ‘disappeared’ legal residents and citizens of our nation are being
illegally warehoused."

“Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Rümeysa Öztürk, Mohmoud Khalil,” said Karen Rodriguez, a co-leader of Indivisible Bucks County. “These are just some of the names of people denied due process by the
Trump Administration. We will not be silent as those in power snatch people off the streets and make them disappear, and we are here to demand that Brian Fitzpatrick abide by his oath of office and join those of us calling for the Constitution to be upheld.”

Added Laura Rose, a co-leader of Indivisible Bucks County, “Brian Fitzpatrick will tell you that he is for sensible immigration reform. But Fitzpatrick has been silent on the Trump administration's abuse of power and civil rights violations. We want him to publicly denounce these abuses and fight to ensure that constitutional rights are upheld for everyone..”

Indivisible will also encourage Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District constituents to send letters to Congressman Fitzpatrick asking him to "Bring them home."

The Other Side

The Trump Administration says it is only targeting criminal illegal immigrants for deportation. "Despite resistance from Democrat politicians in 'sanctuary cities,' illegal immigrant killers, rapists, and drug dealers have been taken off the streets in droves."

According to the Trump Administration, some news outlets have "attempted to paint illegal immigrant gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia as an innocent 'Maryland father' who was unjustly deported by the Trump Administration." The administration says that "Abrego Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador and was deported to his home country amid overwhelming evidence of his gang affiliation."
