Edward Merriman: Edward Merriman, Candidate for Newtown Board of Supervisors, along with Melissa Merk, am running for the Newtown Twp Board of Supervisors. Our goal is to help Newtown Twp continue to be a wonderful place to live.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Edward Merriman: This is our first campaign. I have lived in Newtown for ten years.


Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Edward Merriman: I want to give back to the community. My children are grown, and I have time to do what I can to help my community.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Edward Merriman: When I talk to Newtown Twp residents, I tell them that I view the job of Supervisor as one of listening. To understand what residents want and guide Newtown Twp in that direction.


Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Edward Merriman: Assuming I get elected, being able to help Newton Twp continue to be a wonderful place to live. Based on conversations I've had with many residents, this includes maintaining the green spaces we have left, continuing to support the local businesses we love, and ensuring Newtown residents have access to the services they need.


Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Edward Merriman: We are independent of special interests, and are focused on what Newtown Twp residents want, and don't want in Newtown.
