Kevin started coaching lacrosse when his sons were young and continued to coach long after they stopped playing. Besides being with his family, lacrosse was the thing that brought him the most joy. He spent more than 20 years coaching at the youth, middle school, high school and club team level.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit "A Love for Life," a Newtown-based non-profit dedicated to funding pancreatic cancer research.
“Our group is excited to partner with CB East for this memorial game each year in honor of my Kevin who died 13 years ago, and Coach Kevin who died 3 years ago (a man I wish I could have met)," said the organization's president, Christine Edmonds.
"For Mimi and Coach's family and teammates and all those who have lost a loved one because of pancreatic cancer …. we work to fund better diagnoses and better treatments for those who face this challenge today," said Edmonds. "We are grateful to the CB East community who have chosen to honor Coach KR in this meaningful way."
By hosting the event, the Central Bucks East high school community and their charity partner, A Love for Life will raise money for the pancreatic cancer researchers at Penn with 100 percent of all funds going directly to the Abramson Cancer Center.
