Movie Club To Screen 'Harold And Maude' At Newtown Theatre
Modeled after a book club, this series includes the screening of a different movie each month followed by audience discussion.

NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre will hold its next Movie Club on Wednesday, April 2 at 7:30 p.m. Modeled after a book club, this series will include the screening of a different movie each month followed by audience discussion. Wednesday’s film will be 1971’s “Harold and Maude.”
Harold and Maude follows the exploits of Harold Chasen, a young man who is intrigued with death and who rejects the life his detached mother prescribes for him. Harold develops a friendship, and eventual romantic relationship, with 79-year-old Maude, who teaches Harold about the importance of living life to the fullest. The movie incorporates elements of dark humor and existentialist drama.
Each Movie Club film will be introduced by Joe Amodei, President/CEO of Virgil Films & Entertainment. After the movie, Amodei and various special guests will discuss the film with participation from the audience.
