No Kings Rally, Food Drive Set For Black Friday In Newtown-Langhorne
Food donations will be collected during the rally and delivered to the First United Methodist Church Pantry in Bristol Borough.

NEWTOWN, PA — A No Kings Rally and Food Drive is scheduled for Black Friday, Nov. 28, from 12 to 2 p.m. in front of the Summit Square Office Building (U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick's District Office) at the intersection of Routes 413 and 332 on the Newtown-Langhorne border.
Organizers are calling the event "a bipartisan public rally focused primarily on providing food in the community for those who are hurting, especially children and families missing meals due to systemic failure.
“We stand together — left, right, and fed up — to protect our children, defend democracy, and reject authoritarian rule. This is America vs. tyranny,” said event organizer Andrew Godwin.

Adds organizer Theresa Kiely, “Trump puts the needs of Americans secondary to the needs of the ultra-rich. He has raised at least $1.5 billion since the election, supporting his library, White House ballroom, Kennedy Center and the Army parade on his birthday."
Speakers at the event will include high school youth speaking on political courage and why students are afraid to stand up, and college-level activists urging young adults to organize, vote, and lead.

"We are anticipating hundreds of participants at the rally," said Godwin. "We are hoping that you will come to the event and get a chance to meet some of the participants from Bucks County."
Food donations will be collected during the rally and delivered to the First United Methodist Church Bristol Pantry in Bristol Borough. Food is scheduled to be picked up at 2 p.m.
The First United Methodist Church Bristol Pantry has been in operation since 2012. In September, the pantry provided food to 1,812 people. In October, the number jumped to 2,499 people. In October, the pantry reported having 35 new families visit the pantry and in the first week of November, they have had 28 new families register.
Since 2011, a small group of friends have offered a free “Be Our Guest” meal on the first Saturday of each month at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. They personally purchase and prepare the food, which includes entrées, vegetables, salads, desserts and beverages. The meal is for anyone who needs a hot meal. About 50 people are served each month.
